2007 Ornament

Proceeds from the sale of the 2007 Limited Edition Ornament designed by three-time Champ Car champion, Newman/Haas/

Lanigan Racing McDonald's® driver Sebastien Bourdais will be used to fund CARA Charities' many children's charitable projects. Included in these projects is the CARA Charities Shirley Bettenhausen Children's Fund at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. This fund provides toys and holiday parties for young patients confined to the hospital.

CARA would like to thank Sebastien Bourdais for his generous contribution of time and imagination to this project.

Toyota and CARA have combined efforts to create a new project to continue Buckle Up safety with the institution of the new Buckle Up Bracelet. Like other plastic bracelets that gain awareness of important causes, the new Buckle Up Bracelet, with a stylish checkered flag theme, will continue the important message of using seat belts for children as well as adults while traveling on the roads throughout North America. All of the proceeds from the bracelets will go directly to presenting child car seats to medical facilities for underprivileged families.

“Buckle Up Baby”
Children’s Car Seat Program supported by the Bridgestone/Firestone trust provides funds for infant car seats to needy families in the areas where open wheel races are held.  This program has impacted the safety of thousands of children with nearly $600,000 donated.CARA Cares
Hospital visits are designed to help children through unsettling hospital stays by providing toys and time to the little patients.  CARA Charities has instituted this new program of visiting pediatric units of hospitals at selected race venues throughout the season.The CARA/Shirley Bettenhausen Children's Fund at Methodist Hospital
in Indianapolis funds a play area, holiday parties and a gift for each new patient in the pediatric unit. The fund is supported by the sale of Christmas ornaments designed for CARA by racing drivers and celebrities. The late Shirley Bettenhausen was a past CARA Charities president and the creative force behind this project.BUY Christmas Ornament Now
